I am an artist that practices landscape/nature photography and its combination alongside poetic writing. I find that these two couple well, and recently a book has come out from Dark Winter Press that captures the two art forms alongside. There is a lot of photography work about nature, and as it’s a main theme. It makes me think of the passage of time, and then quickly and inevitably, the place spirit and the spiritual life has amidst our lives.
Pictures can inspire a writing, and the writing can then describe what was there and what the photograph evoked. That is the orthodox or exoteric and regular process and result. But sometimes a picture can set off a writing on a wonderful and wondering and wandering journey into almost another story altogether, and I like to think of that process and result as more esoteric and unorthodox. Both of these processes and results are valid. Maybe the shadow of a branch or part of the fog laden air made the creative or viewer to remember something else entirely.
