As a child I was drawn to beautiful things. I played endlessly with paper dolls because they were colorful and pretty. This developed into a longing for creating things that made me happy. The women and flowers in my paintings bring so much joy while symbolizing the effortless beauty the world offers up organically on a daily basis. My artistry celebrates the goodness in humanity.

The joy of my color use originated in the part of my childhood spent in the Caribbean. We moved to the Virgin Islands when I was 12 and the exuberant colors of the pastel homes, the richness of the flowers, and the jewel colors of the sea were a constant resource in developing my color pallet. I was also influenced by the trends back in the day as they harmonized beautifully with my natural surroundings. Women were adorned in colorful and beach attire mostly designed by Lilly Pulitzer of the 70’s . The batiks and European imports of textiles were also contributing to the cacophony of color you see in my work today.
