It is a funny thing, trying to describe me. Because as much as I have to say, I don’t really have anything to say. It’s already clear that I’m an artist. It’s already clear that I’m a painter. I do have a college background. I attended and graduated from Pratt Institute many years ago, and that experience has its place. The time in between was a crash course in how to forget who I was and where I came from, so I can mind who I am and where I’m going. Hence, what matters most to me now, is how I live today – what choices I make, today.
While I do more than just paint, it is the ability to express through painting what I cannot otherwise articulate, which has made it my foremost modality of visual communication. Beyond the personal and monetary need to share this expression, I would not bother to show anyone at all, being just fine with those who happen upon my work by chance. However, visual art is a language which extends from and speaks to what we understand to be the soul. It is not a language to be muted or withheld. I am therefore compelled to share. If there is any need for a description of what motivates me, I suppose that is it.
