Roy Thomas is a London based artist, working mainly in oils with side projects of collage. His paintings are full of colour, an antidote to the grey austerity to post war England when growing up. Missing out on the digital revolution his working methods are old school – oil paint on canvas or board.
His subjects are mostly modern figurative and owes a debt to photography, always working from photos rather than models. He learned his craft by copying his favourite artists and now, 45 years later, he has developed his own style. Mission statement: just keep painting.
