Kasia Matejczuk is a Polish photographer based in Poland. Her work is most recognized as a black-and-white portrait and fashion photographs. Already as a child, Kasia was very captivated in the art of painting. She painted mostly portraits and their abstract versions. She sought inspiration mainly in books about art and fashion magazines. At the age of 14, she discovered the world of photography and masterworks of the greatest photographers. A huge impact on her photography had a fascination with black-and-white films, in which the elegance and simpleness in further years were very related to her black-and-white photographs.
In 1998 Matejczuk moved to Berlin. She took a few years of lessons and practice in a photo studio involved in the fashion scene. In 2011, Kasia Matejczuk established in Berlin an atelier, where she worked on individual fashion projects. Some of them were published and exhibited in several fashion magazines and galleries. Today, Kasia Matejczuk works as a freelance photographer, with a focus on portrait and fashion photography. She says: I love art in it's every form. Creativity is an expression of our thoughts and feelings. My greatest inspirations are people and life in itself. I discover the unknown and confront the "new" that's the way to grow.
