Renaissance Funk

James, the creative mind behind Renaissance Funk, is a self-taught artist and illustrator based in Eumundi on the Sunshine Coast. Born in 1973 in Australia, he has been passionate about art since childhood, starting his commercial career by painting and selling his work at local markets. His journey includes significant experiences at live-in art studios, such as the Surrendered Studio, where he honed his craft and collaborated with other creatives. Over the years, he has exhibited globally and established his unique style, focusing on a variety of artistic expressions, including fine art, illustration, and industrial design.

With two decades of experience, James has embraced the commercial art world, specializing in original illustrations that range from editorial to children's book designs. He holds a Diploma of Illustration from Melbourne Polytechnic and is dedicated to producing high-quality work under the Renaissance Funk banner. In addition to his visual artistry, he is passionate about poetry and has several anthologies in progress. Through Renaissance Funk, James offers prints, apparel, and homewares, inviting others to engage with his vibrant artistic vision.
